Lenore Thorne

Lenore has been an active member of Grace Baptist Church for 5 years.  She is the oldest in a homeschool family of 5 children and lives on a 20 acre farm named Our Father’s Gift, in Castalian Springs, TN.  Her passion is animals, especially milk goats, which she faithfully milks twice a day.  She has 36 goats which includes milk, meat and fiber goats, and 18 Jacob sheep which she has co-owned with her 14 year old sister Violet for the past 4 years.

Lenore loves to convey her love of farming to others through participating in Farm Days for Wilson County, parading her carting goat Alfred on the Fourth of July, or being a demonstrator in the Fiber Cabin at the Wilson County Fair.

She has won the state Right to Life contest for the last 3 years, winning 3rd, 2nd, and this year placing first.  On the first of July this year, she went to the National Right to Life Oratory Contest where she advanced to the final round with 6 other students  Lenore has a desire to speak for the rights of the unborn.  She has just completed training and will soon volunteer for the just opening Community Pregnancy Center in Hartsville, TN where she hopes to help save the lives of mothers and their babies.  When she graduates next year, she plans to devote herself to full-time farming, and volunteer work at the Center.
